Struggling with Prolonged Process and Seeking Help

I hope this message finds you well. I am a dentist from a non EU country with a strong passion and unwavering determination to continue my professional career in Germany. I am reaching out to you with great hope and a sincere request for your support, as I am facing significant challenges in my journey toward recognition and fulfilling my dream of working as a dentist in Germany.

Over the past few years, I have invested a great deal of effort in preparing myself for this process. I recently passed the B2 German language exam with a near-perfect score and have established connections with a dental clinic in Germany, where I previously completed an internship. The clinic owner has expressed their willingness to employ me in a helping, non-regulated position, allowing me to finance myself while gaining exposure to the German language and dental practice environment. This opportunity would also enable me to prepare more effectively for the Fachsprachprüfung (FSP) and the approbation exams.

However, I am facing significant obstacles that are deeply discouraging. To even apply for the skilled worker visa and begin my recognition process, I need to obtain a Statement of Comparability. Unfortunately, this document will take approximately three months to process, after which the visa application itself is expected to take an additional year or more. The prolonged timeline feels overwhelming and disheartening, as I am eager to contribute my skills and begin my professional journey in Germany as soon as possible.

The waiting period is not only affecting my career aspirations but also taking a toll on my mental health. Despite my resilience and ambition, the uncertainty and lengthy delays make me feel powerless and increasingly distressed. I am reaching out to you with the hope that your team can provide guidance or assistance to help expedite this process or explore alternative pathways that might allow me to move forward more quickly.

I am truly committed to integrating into German society, contributing positively to the healthcare system and achieving professional recognition. I would be incredibly grateful if you could help me navigate this complex process, advocate for my case or provide advice on any steps I might take to overcome these challenges.

Thank you for taking the time to read my message and for the invaluable support you provide. I sincerely hope you can offer some guidance or assistance to help me keep moving toward my goals. I am more than happy to provide any additional information you may require to better understand my situation.

I look forward to hearing from you and truly appreciate the work you are putting out there.

With heartfelt gratitude.

Hello @nazosweg , thank you for reaching out.  I can imagine this waiting must be frustrating and you have already made a lot of effort to achieve becoming a dentist in Germany. You seem already very informed about the process.

You probably already know about this counseling center, that could provide you with further information, if not it might be a good idea to reach out to them:

Unfortunately, the process takes quite a while. Depending on also the country you are applying from.
There is something called the fast track procedure, which will enable you to speed up the process, this depends on your future employer. As far as I know this fast track procedure can also be done if you want to get your qualification recognized, but best to check this.
More information can be found here: https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/visa-residence/types/recognition

Finally you can also look into the visa for qualification recognition, if you haven’t done so already. This might also be an option that might be a bit faster.

In general these processes take quite a lot of time, unfortunately. I can only encourage you to have a bit more patience use the time to maybe learn more German and practice the vocabulary. Do not get discouraged. It’s great that you already are in contact with a clinic in Germany.

Best wishes
